Patrick Clarke made the most of his second chance in the China Bowl on Sunday.
The former University of Buffalo kicker booted a 17-yard field goal with no time on the clock to lift the Beijing Lions to a 35-34 win over the Qingdao Clipper and the inaugural China Arena Football League championship in Shanghai.
Just two seconds earlier, after Clarke shanked a 21-yarder, Clipper players thought they had pulled off an upset of the league's only undefeated team. But Qingdao was called for an illegal corner blitz, and on his second try Clarke split the uprights to end a title game that saw the lead change hands eight times.
