Ex-firm executive tried for bribery

Liao Yongyuan, former general manager of China National Petroleum Corp, stood trial at the Dezhou Intermediate People's Court on Thursday on bribery charges. Liao is charged with using his position to help other people's business operations, while accepting assets worth a total of more than 13 million yuan ($1.92 million) between 1997 and 2014. Liao is also accused of holding property with unidentified sources worth 21 million yuan. The court ruling will be announced at a later date.
