World's shortest flight honors millionth passenger
Tired of miserable long-haul flights? It may be time to try the world's shortest passenger flight, which can take less than a minute. The tiny, 2.7-kilometer hop between two remote British islands officially takes two minutes but can be done in 47 seconds "under ideal wind conditions", says its operator, Scottish airline Loganair.
On Monday, the flight between Westray and Papa Westray welcomed its millionth passenger.
Anne Rendall, a banker with the Royal Bank of Scotland, was given a bunch of flowers by the route captain. She said it was fantastic to become the flight's "millionaire".
