Ex-mayor is think tank's top official

Former Beijing mayor Wang Anshun has been transferred to the Development Research Center of the State Council as its Party chief, the authority announced on Tuesday. Wang's name and position are on the website of the center, a think tank that mainly focuses on the country's economic, social and reform development, and related issues. Wang, 58, of Henan province, was appointed mayor of Beijing in January 2013. On Monday, the Standing Committee of the 14th Beijing Municipal People's Congress, the city's legislative body, said it had accepted Wang's resignation.
