2,210 fugitives brought back
The top anti-graft authority said on Sunday that from 2014 to September the country had repatriated 2,210 fugitives suspected of economic crimes and confiscated assets worth 7.99 billion yuan ($1.18 billion) illegally transferred overseas by corrupt officials. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection released the statistics as part of a review of China's anti-corruption law enforcement and judicial cooperation with foreign countries. Interpol issued red notices - international arrest warrants-in April last year for 100 Chinese fugitives, 35 of whom have been repatriated from 16 countries and regions to face charges.
