Multivan launches limited edition

Volkswagen Import China launched the limited edition Multivan on Wednesday to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the model.

The Multivan Edition 66, of which there are 88 units in the Chinese market, measures 4,904 mm in length, 1,904 mm in width and 1,970 mm in height, with its wheelbase reaching 3,000 mm.

The seven-seat MPV sports a 2.0 TSI engine, which has a maximum output of 150 kW, and a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox.

The model runs at a top speed of 197 km/h but, thanks to Volkswagen's BlueMotion Technology, has a comprehensive fuel consumption of 10.2 liters per 100 km.

The car is also equipped with a number of safety features including a multi collision break, Light Assist, Side Assist, and tire pressure monitor system.

The front-wheel-drive model is priced at 499,800 yuan ($73,744) and the four-wheel-drive version 535,800 yuan.

GAC brings out full-size SUV

GAC Motor launched its long-awaited full-size SUV, the Trumpchi GS8, on Wednesday in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.

The seven-seat model, which has a 2,800 mm wheelbase, measures 4,810 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width and 1,770 mm in height.

The front-wheel-drive SUV sports a 2.0 liters engine, which generates a maximum output of 148 kW, and has a comprehensive fuel consumption of 8.7 liters per 100 km.

The i-four-wheel-drive version has a comprehensive fuel consumption of 9.3 liters per 100 km while its engine's top output remains the same as the front-wheel-drive model.

The Trumpchi GS8 boasts a sporty, muscular design and is equipped with a smart interactive system that includes voice activation and a multimedia entertainment system.

The SUV, which is available in six variants, is priced from 163,800 yuan ($24,167) to 259,800 yuan.
