Vulgar shows ordered to cease

A company suspected of offending public decency by organizing vulgar performances in the Baiyangdian wetland over the National Day holiday has been ordered to stop all such activities. The Ministry of Culture investigated the company after suspicions were raised that it had violated the relevant regulations and rules on commercial performances. The local cultural department has also launched an investigation into standardizing the market for commercial performances. The 300-sq-km Baiyangdian wetland, which is 150 km from Beijing, is one of Hebei province's major scenic spots.
