Environment: Germany top energy-efficient country

Germany is the world's most energy-efficient country, according to a report released by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy. The group's latest International Energy Efficiency Scorecard examines the policies and performances of 23 nations in four categories: buildings, industry, transportation, and overall national energy efficiency efforts. Together these nations accounted for 75 percent of all the energy consumed on the planet and more than 80 percent of the world's gross domestic product in 2013.
