Trio praised by lawmakers and citizens for 'courageous' role in arrest of terror suspect

Calls grew on Wednesday for the German government to honor and reward three Syrian "heroes" who captured a compatriot suspected of plotting to bomb a Berlin airport.

"The young men deserve the Federal Cross of Merit," Social Democrat defense expert Johannes Kahrs told Bild daily, referring to Germany's highest honor for civilians.
