Annual charity fair focuses on new law

The fifth China Charity Fair, focusing on China's new charity law, was held in Shenzhen from Sept 23 to 25. The new law gives social service organizations more innovative opportunities in fundraising methods, said Hui Wingmao, a member of the national committee of the China People's Political Consultative Conference and founder of the Hong Kong New Home Association, at a seminar in the fair. The new law allows nonprofit organizations to be recognized as social service institutes, to apply for public offering qualifications and to establish charitable trust funds.
