China is working with Cambodia and Bangladesh to use book exhibits and other events to draw the countries closer, ahead of President Xi Jinping's visits this week.

The State Council Information Office and Chinese embassy in Bangladesh co-hosted a book exhibition in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Tuesday. The exhibition displayed more than 1,000 books, including Xi Jinping: The Governance of China, in languages including Chinese, English and French.

Xi will make state visits to the two nations on Thursday and Friday, and then fly to Goa, India, for the Eighth BRICS Summit over the weekend, officials said. BRICS stands for emerging powerhouses Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
