Lost ID cards to be blocked

The Ministry of Public Security has finished building a system to invalidate lost residential ID cards and will apply it soon, according to Vice-Minister Huang Ming on Thursday. Millions of residents lose their residential ID cards every year, but even after the owner reports the loss, the cards may still be used by criminals - for example - to open bank accounts.
