People: Young village official's photos go viral

A series of retro self-portraits snapped by a 20-something village official from Anhui province has become a social media hit. All the photos feature Wang Xue's hometown, Jiulonggang. Wang is the deputy chief of the village in Huainan, a city known for historical relics in Anhui province. The city is now launching a campaign to promote tourism in Jiulonggang. Wang hopes that her photos, which prominently display the picturesque town, will serve as a useful publicity tool.
