PM2.5 down 12.5% January to August

The density of PM2.5, fine particulate matter that pollutes the air and harms human health, decreased in Beijing by 12.5 percent year-on-year in the period from January to August, the local environmental watchdog said on Monday. The average PM2.5 reading in the first eight months was 63 micrograms per cubic meter, it said.
