Defeating an enemy most people can't see
Fighting the Zika Virus has become personal to me and my son. We spent our five-day holiday in late August in Singapore, as it became the only Asian country with active transmission of the mosquito-borne virus.
It was the first time for just the two of us to travel together. As we waited to board at Beijing Capital International Airport, each with a trolley-bag in tow, I thought about Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe's advertisement of a father and son on a Pullman train. It was a moment of warmth, trust and love.
Our emotional bond was even stronger when we returned, though I couldn't share with him the nervous feelings I had about our numerous outdoor activities there that could have exposed us to mosquito bites and made us sick.
