Wozniacki looks to Asia after strong run
Former world No 1 Caroline Wozniacki couldn't make it back to a third US Open final, but the Dane was pleased to have proved naysayers wrong with her run to the final four.
"I came into this tournament ranked 74 in the world and probably people ruled me out, but it's nice to prove people wrong once again," said Wozniacki, who was sidelined for nearly three months with an ankle injury this year.
Wozniacki's run to the semis included victories over ninth-seeded former champion Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia and eighth-seeded American Madison Keys.
