Ex-SOE executive tried for graft

Sun Zhaoxue, the former general manager of Aluminum Corp of China, a State-owned enterprise, stood trial on charges of corruption at the Intermediate People's Court in Tieling on Thursday. Sun was accused of abusing his positions to secure projects, as well as the promotions of several individuals, according to prosecutors. He was also accused of accepting gifts and money totaling more than 38.8 million yuan ($5.8 million) from 2005 to 2014 from various companies and individuals, prosecutors said. A verdict will be announced later, according to the court.
