Charitable loans benefit students

Students from poverty-stricken families in southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have benefited from the local government's credit loans. According to officials from the Department of Education in Guangxi, there are an estimated 320,000 impoverished students who have applied for the aid loan in the province and the credit loan has reached around 2.2 billion yuan ($330 million). Statistics show that around 648,700 underprivileged students got assistance from 2008 to the end of 2015 and 44.86 percent of them had access to the locally-granted student loan, which is much higher than China's western regions.
