As danmu, or "bullet curtain", a service which allows viewers to plaster comments directly on top of an uploaded video, becomes increasingly popular, the Cyberspace Administration of China is taking steps to regulate it.

"It's common and inevitable that vulgar or violent words appear in danmu, which is annoying and may have a bad influence on children."
