Online alerts help locate vulnerable missing persons, even in minutes

Chinese online content aggregation app Toutiao is set to expand its social services and support, from helping to look for missing children and the elderly, to cooperating in projects related to earthquake warning mechanisms.
In February, the app launched a service to provide information on missing people. By August, information on 2,058 missing people was provided to 190 million smartphone users. It has helped to find 251 missing people, mainly the elderly.
Up to 12 missing people were found in one day through its support.
