Company special: Bombadier continues contribution to China's rail and air sectors

Although keeping a relatively low profile in Chinese media circles, Canadian train and aircraft manufacturer Bombardier's contribution to China should not be underestimated.

Since 1998 when the Montreal-based firm first tapped into the Chinese rail transportation market, Bombardier has provided more than 3,000 high-speed railway passenger cars, more than 2,000 metro cars and over 560 electric locomotives to the Chinese markets to date.

Despite being the last foreign company in the sector to enter China, the Canadian firm has overwhelmed its foreign peers in market share and is recognized as the most successful foreign company in rail transportation in the country.
