Acting governor named to lead Anhui

Li Guoying, former vice-minister of water resources, was named vice-governor and acting governor of Anhui province by the provincial legislature on Thursday.

It is the first time for Li, born in 1963 in Henan province, to head a provincial government.

Li graduated from what is now North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power in 1984. He majored in water conservancy and hydropower engineering and had been serving in the Ministry of Water Resources and Heilongjiang province's water resources department for decades.
