Maker of Apple's lenses commits to renewable energy

Apple Inc is partnering with one of its major Chinese suppliers to promote the use of renewable energy for all of the US tech giant's operations, an initiative that is expected to avoid nearly 450,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year.

Lens Technology, which manufactures lens products for Apple, said all of its glass production for Apple will be powered by renewable energy by the end of 2018, making it the first Apple's supplier to make such a big environmental commitment.
