Kudos to Shanghai and Beijing!

Once again, they are leading the way in the fight against smoking in China.

Six years after it became the first major jurisdiction in the Chinese mainland to impose restrictions on smoking indoors, Shanghai is proposing bans that would include all public spaces. As for Beijing, the city has been strictly enforcing its smoking curbs for the past year, collecting more than 2.2 million yuan ($330,000) in fines.
