Central bank official to take on IMF role

Zhang Tao (right), deputy governor of the People's Bank of China, will take office today as deputy managing director of the International Monetary Fund. He will succeed Zhu Min, who stepped down last month. Zhang has many years of experience at multilateral development banks, including the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.
