Asia's biggest RV fair
Asia's biggest recreational vehicle fair will get underway on Sept 8 in Beijing, with the organizers expecting 50,000 visitors to the three-day event. More than 280 exhibitors have registered for the 13th China International RV & Camping Exhibition organized by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, 21 RV and RV World.
The organizers said RV fans at the fair will learn the latest information about recreational vehicles, chassis, accessories as well as campsite design, camping tools and outdoor equipment. As camping is becoming more popular in China, the country will invest 35 billion yuan ($5.3 million) in building 500 camping sites for recreational vehicles in 2016.
Ferrari recall
Italian luxury car maker Ferrari will recall 621 imported vehicles into China due to defective airbags, the country's leading quality watchdog announced on Wednesday.
During the recall, which is set to begin on Sept 15, the company will check the airbags and, if necessary, fit new ones free of charge.
Upon inflation, the gas generators in defective airbags may be damaged, which could result in flying debris, posing a safety risk to passengers, according to the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
The recall affects Italia-series cars made between March 1, 2010 and Sept 30, 2011, and California-series vehicles manufactured between April 1, 2009 and June 30, 2011, according to the watchdog.
Resignations at FAW
An announcement was made by listed arms of FAW Group on Thursday that seven senior executives, including the chairman of the board, have resigned.
Xu Xianping, 52, resigned as chairman of the board of both FAW Car and FAW Xiali. He resigned from parent company FAW Group last month and joined another State-owned enterprise, China General Technology (Group) Holding Co, as chairman of the board.
FAW Car also announced the resignation of a further board member, the chairman of the supervisory board, and two supervisory board members, while a board member and the chairman of the supervisory board also resigned from FAW Xiali.
