LeBron James, fresh from leading the Cavaliers to an NBA title - the first for one of Cleveland's three pro sports teams in 52 years - on Thursday agreed to a three-year, $100 million contract.
James, who said earlier this summer he intended to re-sign with the Cavs, will soon sign the deal, according to a source who spoke to AP on condition of anonymity because certain details of the deal were yet to be finalized.
The 31-year-old had been expected to accept the same one-year deal he signed in each of his two previous seasons since returning to Cleveland. However, he's decided to stay longer to try to win more championships.
