Londoners awoke to a heavier armed police presence on Thursday after officers said they had arrested a 19-year-man on suspicion of killing a woman and injuring five other people in a knife attack the previous evening.
The incident in the center of the British capital came on the day that authorities unveiled the city's new anti-terror unit. Police said early indications point to mental health as being a factor in the attack and described it as a random incident.
Police identified the suspect as a Norwegian of Somali origin and said there was no evidence he had been radicalized.
