Taxi industry to be revamped

The State Council, China's Cabinet, issued a guideline on Thursday to implement reform of the taxi industry. The guideline grants legal status at the national level to online booking services for the first time, as part of efforts toward a sustainable and healthy development of the industry. Local governments are required to regulate online taxi booking services and explore management models in line with the actual development of local taxi industries, according to the guideline.
