An unlikely take on home animals, the upcoming Hollywood comedy The Secret Life of Pets will hit the Chinese mainland on Tuesday. For most audiences, the animation film answers an interesting question: What will pets do if the owners aren't at home? Set in Manhattan, the 90-minute flick revolves on two dogs, a terrier and a stray, developing from rivals to partners that fight an army of lost pets, which schemes to take revenge on people. As the latest feature of Illumination Entertainment, known for the Despicable Me franchise, the $75 million film has received critical acclaim and commercial success since being released in the United States on July 8.
