CPC expels former E. China official

Yang Zhenchao, former vice-governor of Anhui province, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China, a statement from the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said on Tuesday. Yang violated the Party frugality code by accepting banquet invitations and used public money to cover private expenses. He did not report his personal affairs to authorities according to rules, lied to investigators, took advantage of his position to seek benefits for others and accepted bribes in staff selection and promotions, it said.
