PM claims victory against militants
Turkey's prime minister said security forces have largely wiped out Kurdish militants from the country's urban areas. In a speech to officials of his ruling party, Binali Yildirim said on Wednesday the security forces would continue to hunt down the rebels in rural areas "until there no longer are any incidents of terrorism."

4 dead, 6 rescued as boat capsizes
Authorities recovered the bodies of four people, including two children, and rescued six people after a boat carrying migrants overturned off the coast of the eastern Aegean island of Lesbos on Wednesday. The coast guard said the bodies of one girl, one boy, a man and a woman had been retrieved from the sea while six survivors had been rescued.

Bomber kills 4 near Baghdad
A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-rigged vehicle at a checkpoint near Baghdad on Wednesday, killing at least four people, officials said, an attack claimed by the Islamic State group. The bombing leading to the Husseiniyah area, northeast of the capital, also wounded 21 people, the officials said.

US man gored during bull run
An American was gored in the leg and five other runners were injured on Wednesday in the next-to-last running of the bulls at Pamplona's San Fermin festival, officials said. One of the six bulls crashed into a group of runners close to a fence, goring the US citizen in the thigh and lifting at least two others in the air with his horns. Officials said the US man's injuries were not life-threatening.

Woman with $1.2M fake bills held
Federal officials say a Peruvian woman smuggled more than $1.2 million in counterfeit $100 bills hidden in yarn spindles through Boston's Logan International Airport. Forty-seven-year-old Alejandrina Elsa Quispe Ramirez appeared in a Boston court on Tuesday on charges including importing counterfeit currency into the United States. US Attorney Carmen Ortiz's office said Peruvian National Police had contacted federal agents warning that a woman would be traveling to the US with counterfeit funds.

Body of missing US airman found
The body of a US airman has been found in a river in the northern Italian town where he went missing 10 days ago, Italian and US authorities said on Tuesday. A Carabinieri official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to give the information, said the body of Staff Sergeant Halex Hale was identified by his father and colleagues from the Aviano Air Base. The body, clad in just a swimming suit, was spotted earlier on Tuesday by a passer-by.
