Day happy to take advice from Tiger

By Agence France Presse In Troon, Scotland | China Daily | Updated: 2016-07-13 07:48

Ailing US golf legend Tiger Woods isn't competing in this week's British Open, but he's a regular source of advice and inspiration for Australia's world No 1 Jason Day.

The 28-year-old son of a Australian father and a Filipina mother played with Woods for the first two rounds at last year's Open along with South African Louis Oosthuizen, who barely managed to squeeze in a word as the other two chatted.

The friendship has grown over the past year and Day said on Monday he regularly turns to 14-time major champion Woods - who is still recuperating from a back operation he underwent last year - for advice.
