People: Making kingfisher feathers soar

An ancient Chinese skill, diancui has made the country's jewelry unique and vivid. It literally means "a dip of blue". To make diancui jewelry, kingfisher feathers are meticulously cut and glued onto gold or silver to create an iridescent effect similar to cloisonne. Xiao Guangchun in his 60s is one of the few masters in China who still employs traditional methods to make diancui jewelry.
