Foreign education still going strong

By the end of 2025, the total number of Chinese who pursued degrees in foreign countries since 1978 will surpass 10 million, according to the Western Returned Scholars Association. Zhang Xuejun, secretary-general of the association, said overseas Chinese belong to one of the most important groups under the concept of "united front work", which aims to pool support from across a range of society. From 1978 to 2015, more than 4 million people have pursued degrees in foreign countries.
