Shaanxi showcases its role as the key to the door of China
The Party Chief of Shaanxi province Lou Qinjian and Governor Hu Heping jointly promoted the province to the world at an event titled "An Open China: Shaanxi Engaging The World", which was held in Beijing on Tuesday.
The promotion, which was the third provincial global promotion event staged by China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attracted 219 diplomats and representatives of international organizations, including 80 ambassadors.
As a starting point on the ancient Silk Road, Shaanxi was one of the gateways that connected China and the outside world in olden times. Today, with the implementation of China's national strategy to establish a Silk Road Economic Belt and a 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, collectively known as the Belt and Road Initiative, Shaanxi is once again at the forefront of China's opening up to the world.
