Decision taken to boost transport

The State Council, China's cabinet, deployed a medium- and long-term plan for the country's railway network and the rejuvenation of the Sichuan and Shaanxi old revolutionary base areas at its executive meeting on June 29. The meeting said transportation infrastructure construction was planned to support social and economic upgrades and development. It also stressed the active development of agriculture and forestry, new materials, high-end equipment manufacturing, logistics and tourism in the Sichuan and Shaanxi old revolutionary base areas, as well as increased investment for poverty alleviation, relocation and microfinance.
