Boyfriend stole cash, Mercedes

A man from Pingdingshan who allegedly cheated a woman out of 1.46 million yuan ($222,000) and stole her Mercedes was detained on June 21. The man, surnamed Mei, met the woman, surnamed Chen, from Haikou, Hainan province, in March last year. After winning her trust and becoming her boyfriend, Mei allegedly cheated Chen out of the cash until October, when he left her and drove her car back to his hometown to marry another woman. He was detained for further investigation.
