Society: Tiger paintings flourish in Henan village
The main theme of decades-old painting industry in the village of Wanggongzhuang, in Henan province, is tiger. As tiger sounds similar to Fu in Chinese, which means good fortune, and has a good market prospect, the locals flood to the village to paint tigers. Of its more than 1,300 residents, 800 work in painting-related industries. Their paintings have been exported to several countries.
