Official takes giant leap for tourism - with a parachute

A county official in Hubei province live-streamed his first parachute jump to boost tourism.

Chen Xingjia, the top official of Badong county, had never jumped out of an aircraft 3 kilometers above the ground, but he did it on Tuesday to draw people's attention to the small county.

In the video, Chen is instructed by sky diving professionals, sometimes briefly in English. He appears calm and determined. Then he takes the plunge, tethered to an expert.
