EU: Britons about to make the decision

Today the British make their much-anticipated decision as to whether they remain in or leave the European Union.

After just spending two weeks in the UK, it was difficult to gauge the mood. It was also just before the appalling murder of Labour MP Jo Cox, which may have swung things slightly more to a decision to stay.

My main worry a few months back was that the country would "sleepwalk", in Prime Minister David Cameron's description, toward "Brexit" because most people generally were not that moved by the issue.
