1.6 billion yuan allocated for poor

The Chinese government has allocated 1.6 billion yuan ($240 million) to support projects in less developed regions, according to the National Development and Reform Commission on Monday. The funds will target less developed areas in 21 provincial regions. County governments can choose the projects.
