Item from June 21, 1989, in China Daily: This tall building in Beijing is near completion after three years. The 180-meter skyscraper is independently constructed by Chinese workers.

Since the 1991 opening of Capital Mansion, then the tallest building in Beijing, the city's record for skyscraper height has been broken several times.

Next year, China Zun will be completed, which will rise to 528 meters. It will be the tallest in the capital, with its height surpassing that of China World Trade Center Tower 3 by 190 meters.
