No explosives found in backpack

The police investigated a suspicious backpack at the gate of the United States embassy and didn't find any explosives on Wednesday, according to police. The area was cordoned off after police received a report saying that a backpack possibly containing explosives was found at the site at around 3 pm. An officer in protective clothing was seen handling the backpack at the site, Beijing Youth Daily reported. The bag contained clothes. No explosives were inside, police said.
