CWDF, jewelry firm aid women

The China Women's Development Foundation and Beijing Caishikou Department Store Co Ltd jointly held a charity activity in Beijing on Tuesday to aid impoverished and high-risk pregnant women in remote areas across China ahead of International Children's Day on June 1. A series of children's contests, including singing, dancing, writing and drawing, were staged on the day. While giving publicity to the Special Fund for Maternal and Child Health, celebrating International Children's Day in this way also enabled children to have fun and develop an awareness of charity issues. During the event, Caibai and Guohe Jinzheng, a gold manufacturer, donated 500,000 yuan ($75,950) to the fund.
