Xi greets children of island workers

President Xi Jinping extended greetings to the children of workers on islands in the East China Sea on Monday, ahead of International Children's Day on Wednesday. In a letter written on Monday and made public on Tuesday, Xi wrote of a visit to the Dachen Island 10 years ago when he talked with the children's grandparents, who had left home to develop the uninhabited islands 60 years ago.
