Over 250,000 items of clothing donated, with 400 Wal-Mart stores taking part in program

Global retail giant Wal-Mart Stores Inc has donated clothing to help in future natural disasters worth 7.8 million yuan ($1.2 million) to the China Foundation of Poverty Alleviation.

The donation, which took place on May 12 in Beijing, includes shoes, hats and apparel, which will be used to expand the foundation's inventory for disaster prevention, to be better prepared for when disaster occurs.
