New adventure facility aims to tap nascent market

The world's first Discovery Adventures Park has opened in a valley in Zhejiang's mountainous region, offering outdoor enthusiasts a comprehensive selection of survival and adventure skills programs as well as the chance to scale China's largest rock climbing wall.

Located in the Moganshan mountains in Deqing county, the park covers about 130,000 square meters and is the largest tourism complex in the area which is already a hotspot among local travelers thanks to a number of high-end designer boutique hostels.

The county government is hoping this new park will become another famous landmark with which it can use to boost tourism, said Luo Guojian, director of the Standing Committee of Deqing County People's Congress, during the park's opening ceremony on April 26.
