Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola conceded his side paid a heavy price for a slow start as Saul Niguez's sensational 11th minute solo effort handed Atletico Madrid a 1-0 win in their Champions League semifinal first leg on Wednesday.

The German champion dominated possession but struggled to create chances as Atletico held on for its 33rd shutout of the season to take a huge step towards its second final in three years.
