Editor's note: The 2016 China Green Companies Summit is being held in Jinan, Shandong province, from Friday through Sunday. Since 2008, the annual event has been held to promote smart, long-term economic and social growth. Many leading Italian companies that do business in China are involved in the summit. The Italian delegation is led by Marco Simoni, special envoy and economic adviser of the Italian prime minister.

Brembo Group

Brembo is a world leader in the design, development and production of braking systems and components for cars, motorbikes, industrial vehicles and machinery, for the original equipment market, after-market and racing sectors. In 2000, Brembo entered China by establishing a joint venture.

Chiomenti Studio Legale

Founded in 1948, Chiomenti is one of the largest Italian law firms. The practice of the firm traditionally focused on corporate mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance and capital markets, but in recent years it has expanded its service to sectors such as tax, administrative law, employment law, energy, real estate and intellectual property. The firm has offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Ferrero Group

With a consolidated turnover of over 9.5 billion euros ($10.7 billion), Ferrero is one of the market leaders in the confectionery sector and the third-largest company worldwide in the chocolate confectionery market. The company brought its most renowned brand, Ferrero Rocher, to the Chinese market in the 1980s. Ferrero China was founded in 2007 and in 2015, Ferrero Group opened its first manufacturing plant in the Grand Jiangdong Industrial Cluster Zone.

Finmeccanica

Finmeccanica is a major global player in the aerospace, helicopter and security electronics industries. Its helicopter division has so far delivered more than 50 helicopters to be used by law enforcement, emergency and disaster relief agencies as well as for passenger transport. More than 80 radars are under operation in Chinese airports providing safety to domestic and international commercial flights in China. The ambitious Chinese space program also provides partnership opportunities for the company.

Giacomini Group

The company started more than 60 years ago as a small metal-mechanical company producing brass valves. It is now a complete solution provider in heating and cooling radiant systems for building plant engineering, with products and services including energy and water management, radiant systems, gas distribution, fire protection and renewable sources. About 80 percent of its products are exported to more than 100 countries and regions. Its Asia-Pacific headquarters was established in 2015 in Hong Kong.

In3act

In3act is a business strategy and investments advisory company founded in 2004. It offers tailor-made services on business growth strategies and investment operations. Its clients cover many industrial sectors including energy, environmental protection, automotives, petrochemicals, agriculture, healthcare and consumer goods. The company entered the China market in 2006.

Intesa Sanpaolo

Intesa Sanpaolo is one of the top banking groups in the eurozone, with market capitalization of around 40.7 billion euros ($45.8 billion). Through its international network of specialists, Intesa Sanpaolo supports corporate customers across 28 countries and regions. Through its Shanghai branch, established in 1997, Intesa Sanpaolo provides assistance to Italy-related companies and multinational corporations with direct or indirect presence in the Chinese market.

Meccanotecnica Umbra

Meccanotecnica Umbra (Qingdao) Co Ltd was founded in 2005 with registered capital of $3.5 million. The company mainly engages in the production, development and design of mechanical seals for automobiles, household appliances and industry; matching services; wholesale and service for mechanical seals; and export business and international trade information consulting services.

Pelliconi

Founded in 1939, the company provides the beverage industry with outstanding quality, high performance and leading technology, with a product portfolio including crown corks for beer, wine and soft drink bottles and aluminum screw caps for water bottles. It has manufacturing facilities in Italy, Egypt, the United States and China.

Pirelli

Founded in 1872, Pirelli is now the world's leading premium tire manufacturer with a commercial presence in more than 160 countries, providing products for both consumer and industrial use. The company has partnerships with many of the world's premium carmakers, such as Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Volvo. It entered the China market in 2005 and is a top five retailer in the tire industry.

Progetto CMR

Progetto CMR is a leading Italian integrated architectural design firm. Founded in 1994 in Milan, it now has 11 offices around the world, including two in China, providing consultation for urban planning, architectural and interior design. Its design schemes are tailored to the needs of the Chinese market for residential, hotel, office, retail, industrial and public space projects.

Qingdao Easy Best Refrigeration Equipment Ltd

Qingdao Easy Best specializes in the production of professional ice cream and bakery showcases, ice cream machines, ice cream carts and pasteurization machines. The company offers new and efficient technological and aesthetic solutions to satisfy the new and sophisticated demands of the Chinese ice cream market.

Technogym

Founded in Italy in 1983, Technogym is a leader in fitness equipment and software for sport clubs, five-star hotels, rehab health clinics, companies and homes. It has been present in China since 2002 with its Asian headquarters based in Shanghai. From Sydney 2000 to Rio de Janeiro 2016, including Beijing 2008, Technogym has been the exclusive supplier for the Olympic Games.

Vodafone Automotive

Vodafone Automotive is the new name for Cobra Group following Vodafone's acquisition of Cobra in August 2014. The company combines Cobra's 40-year heritage in vehicle security and telematics with Vodafone's reputation as a world-leading telecoms brand and machine-to-machine services provider. It is a leading supplier of automotive products and services, including in-car telematics, vehicle tracking and usage-based insurance solutions for vehicle manufacturers, insurance companies and fleets. Vodafone Automotive has direct operations in 10 countries, including China.
